Police arrests four gamblers in Budgam | KNO

Srinagar, April 22 (KNO) :Budgam police arrested four gamblers in Magam area of Budgam district. Acting on a specific information, Budgam Police raided a gambling site at Buddibagh, Magam and apprehended four gamblers identified as Abdul Majeed, Ishaq Rather, Ishfaq Rasool and Vilayet Wani, all residents of Buddibagh, Magam.

A stake money of Rs.2050/- and playing cards were also recovered from the gambling site. Accordingly, a case FIR 51/2018 under section 13 Gambling Act was registered in Police Station Magam. The accused were challaned in Magam court, convicted and sentenced for 14 days imprisonment by Judicial Magistrate Magam. The residents of the area hailed the swift crime control efforts of police.
